Agencies
An agency is for everyone who looks after TrustComponent projects of other companies — agencies, software companies, IT service providers and consultancies. It brings all your client projects together under one team, so you don’t have to be invited into every single project.
- Your clients keep their projects. A client project stays the client’s project, with its own modules, plans, invoices and bill recipient. The agency manages it; it does not own it.
- Your team works through the agency. Agency members reach client projects with the roles and the project scope you give them, without taking seats in the client projects.
- One place for everything open. The work queue, the billing center and the agency overview cover all client projects at once.
An agency is free. Some team and governance features are available through agency add-ons.

Section titled “Creating an agency”- Open Agencies in the dashboard and choose Create your agency — or sign up with For client projects as your answer to “How do you plan to use TrustComponent?”, which takes you there directly.
- Enter the agency name, a contact email, and optionally your website and company size. Clients see the name when you connect their project.
- Add your first client project — connect an existing project of your client or create a new one.
- Invite your team under Team & Access — see Identity & Access.
- Complete the agency profile under Settings › Agency profile, so clients recognize you.
You become the Owner of the agency. A person can own one agency; you can be a member of further agencies.
When you sign in and belong to an agency, the dashboard opens the agency directly — the last one you used, if you belong to several. Pending invitations, unpaid invoices addressed to you or a scheduled account deletion take you to your Home page first.
The agency overview
Section titled “The agency overview”The overview shows the state of all client projects you can see:
- Key figures — number of client projects, monthly volume, trials running and the portfolio health.
- Needs attention — the open items of your client projects, with Work through to start the work queue.
- Set up your agency — a checklist for the first steps.
- Client projects — the projects that need you most, with their health.
| Health | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Needs action | The project is locked, a trial has expired, or a critical item is open. |
| Degraded | Modules are scheduled for deletion, a module has reached its included volume, or a warning is open. |
| Setting up | The project has no module yet. |
| Healthy | Nothing to do. |
Client projects
Section titled “Client projects”Client projects › All client projects lists every project your agency manages and that you can see.
- Views — All, Needs action, Setting up, Trial and Billing issue.
- Search by client, project, reference or tag; filter by group and tag; group by client.
- Bulk actions for selected projects — add to a group, set tags, export as CSV, open in the billing center.
- Opening a project shows its summary: open items, who has access (direct members and agency members), billing, recent activity and client details. Open project takes you into the project itself.
Client details
Section titled “Client details”Client details are internal notes of your agency about a client project. Only members of your agency see them — the client does not.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Client name | Up to 100 characters |
| Website | Up to 200 characters |
| Internal reference | For example your customer number, up to 100 characters |
| Tags | Up to 20 tags of up to 40 characters, for filtering |
| Note | Up to 2,000 characters |
Groups
Section titled “Groups”Groups organize client projects — for filters, reports and team access. They never change who owns or pays for a project.
- Create groups under Client projects › Groups, up to 50 per agency. A project can be in several groups.
- Groups drive the project scope of your team: a member scoped to a group gets access to every project in it, including projects added later. Removing a project from a group, or deleting a group, removes the access that came only through it.
Relationship
Section titled “Relationship”For agencies in the partner program, every client project also has a relationship: Used by my own company or Managed for external partners. Only external projects count for commissions.
Connecting projects
Section titled “Connecting projects”A client who already has a project connects it to your agency. Connecting works in both directions, and projects are never found by search — the client always decides.
- Open Client projects › Connect a project and choose Create link.
- Give the link a label, set how many projects may use it and how long it is valid — 1, 5, 14 or 30 days.
- Send the link to your client — copy it, or let us send it by email with a personal message. Client view shows what your client will see.
- Your client opens the link, signs in, picks one of the projects they administer, reviews your agency and confirms.
Open links are listed on the same page, with their uses and expiry; you can revoke them at any time.
- The client opens their project, Settings › Agency, and creates a project code. It can be used once and is valid for 5 days. The client can also send it to you by email.
- You open the link from the email, or enter the code under Client projects › Connect a project.
- You review the project and confirm.
- Creating links and confirming project codes needs the Maintainer role in the agency. On the client’s side, only an Admin of the project can connect it.
- Before confirming, both sides see a preview: the agency with its profile on one side; the project with its state (trial, locked, scheduled for deletion) and open items on the other.
- A project can be managed by one agency at a time. If it is already managed by another agency, the client must confirm the replacement explicitly — it is never replaced silently.
What the agency can do in a client project
Section titled “What the agency can do in a client project”When the client confirms, they see exactly this:
- Your team gets access with the client project roles and within the project scope you assign them. Advanced roles apply only where the client project includes them; elsewhere they count as Member. The client sees your team in the project’s member list as Via agency.
- Billing stays with the project. The client’s billing profile, bill recipient and invoices don’t change. If the client wants you to pay, they can make one of your team members an admin and bill recipient of the project.
- The client can end the management at any time — see Ending the management.
Creating client projects
Section titled “Creating client projects”You can also create a project for a client yourself: Create client project on the agency overview, or choose your agency in the last step of creating a project.
- The wizard additionally asks for the client name and an optional group.
- You become the first admin and the bill recipient of the new project, and the project is managed by your agency from the start. Its invoices are addressed to you until someone else becomes the bill recipient.
- When the client should take over, invite the client’s admin into the project, make them bill recipient and end the management — or keep managing it.
Work queue
Section titled “Work queue”The work queue collects everything that is open across your agency and the client projects you can access — for example a failed payment of a client’s invoice.
- Every item has a severity: Critical, Warning or Insight. Filter by severity or show only the items assigned to you (Mine).
- Assign to me marks that you take care of an item; Unassign releases it.
- Dismiss closes an item for everyone who sees it. Items also close by themselves as soon as their cause is fixed, for example when the invoice is paid.
- Work through opens one item after the other: fix it in the project, then continue with the next one. A bar at the top of every project page shows where you are.
Every member who sees an item can assign and dismiss it, whatever their role. The number of open items is shown next to Work queue in the menu.
Summary email
Section titled “Summary email”Next to the work queue, you set up a summary email that brings the open items of your client projects to your team’s inbox.
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Frequency | Every morning · Monday and Thursday · every Monday · first Monday of the month |
| When | Always, also when all is good · only when items are open · only when critical items are open |
| Recipients | All members (new members are included automatically) or selected members |
- Emails are sent in the early morning (UTC) of the chosen days.
- Each recipient only sees the client projects they have access to. The email lists the open and critical items, what was closed in the last 7 days and up to five items, critical ones first, with a link to the work queue.
- Agencies without client projects don’t receive it.
- Changing the settings needs the Maintainer role; every member can send themselves a preview.
Billing center
Section titled “Billing center”Every client project keeps its own invoices. The billing center (Billing in the agency menu) shows them together — but only for client projects in which you hold the Billing role, for example as an agency Owner or Billing member within your project scope.
- Invoices — key figures (invoiced this month, failed or overdue, open and not yet due, paid by your agency), filters by group and status, search, CSV export, and Download ZIP with the PDF and the e-invoice XML of every selected invoice.
- Billing data — the billing address and bill recipient of every client project. Apply billing address copies one address to several projects at once; invoice language, invoice emails and the customer reference stay per project.
- Changes to the billing of a single project are made in that project, under Settings › Billing & Payment. How billing works in general is described in Billing.
Agency add-ons
Section titled “Agency add-ons”Agency add-ons apply to the agency itself and its team — never to the client projects. Client projects book their own project add-ons.
- Agency Support — guaranteed response times and included support hours for the tickets your agency opens under its own name. Tickets for a client project run under that project’s support.
- Agency Governance — more seats, a longer agency audit log with export and API, two-factor enforcement and invitation rules for the agency. The Enterprise level adds single sign-on with automatic provisioning, advanced and multiple roles, expiring memberships and audit log streaming.
Book add-ons under Settings › Add-ons; this needs the Owner or Billing role. The agency needs a bill recipient first — an Owner or Billing member — and a billing address, which the booking asks for if missing. Booking, upgrading and cancelling work as for project add-ons: one level per type, upgrades apply immediately, cancel at the end of the period or immediately without refund. There is no trial for agency add-ons.
The agency’s own invoices are under Settings › Billing & Payment.
Current agency add-ons
Section titled “Current agency add-ons”The add-ons you can currently book yourself in the dashboard. Individual offers and add-ons booked under earlier terms can differ — what your agency has is shown under Settings › Add-ons.

The table shows the add-ons currently available for booking and is for information only. The binding prices are those shown in the dashboard; if they differ, the price stated when you book applies.Agency governance
Section titled “Agency governance”The agency has its own governance, separate from its client projects:
- Audit log — every change in the agency, under Governance › Audit Logs (Audit Logs). Project activity shows the audit logs of your client projects side by side.
- API keys — under Settings › API Keys, for reading the agency audit log through the audit log API. An agency key reads the agency’s own events, not those of its client projects.
- Contracts — agreements of the agency, under Governance › Contracts.
- Single sign-on — one identity provider for your whole team, under Governance › Single Sign-On (Single Sign-On).
- Support — tickets for the agency itself or for one of your client projects, under Support (Support).
Ending the management
Section titled “Ending the management”A client can end the management of their project at any time: Settings › Agency › End agency management in the project. Only an Admin of the project can do this.
Before the management ends, the page checks that the project can stand on its own:
- A direct admin remains — at least one admin of the project who is not a member of your agency. The page lets the client make a member admin or invite one.
- Billing remains valid — the bill recipient must not be a member of your agency. The client picks a new bill recipient among the remaining admins.
- Agency employees with direct access — members of your agency who were also invited into the project directly. The client decides whether they keep that access.
Afterwards, your agency and its team lose all access through the agency immediately. Your agency cannot undo this; the project can be connected again later with a new code. Under Settings › Agency, the client can also switch to another agency.
Partner program
Section titled “Partner program”Agencies that bring us new clients can take part in our partner program and earn a commission on the revenue of their external client projects. The program is activated by our team for your agency — contact us if you are interested.
Once activated, the Partner program entry appears in the agency menu:
- Apply with your company details and self-billing information, and accept the partner terms.
- We verify your application.
- Connect payouts with Stripe under Payout profile.
Commissions are calculated monthly on the paid invoices of your client projects with the relationship Managed for external partners. They are paid out automatically through Stripe, and every payout comes with a self-billing credit note. Commissions, Credit notes and Payout profile show what was earned, what is pending and what was paid out.
Deleting an agency
Section titled “Deleting an agency”An Owner can delete the agency under Settings › Agency profile, by typing its name to confirm.
- All client projects are released from the agency and keep running for their clients. The agency team loses its access through the agency.
- The Stripe payout account is disconnected; commissions that are not yet ready for payout are forfeited.
- The agency’s own invoices remain available to its bill recipient in their user profile.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”My client cannot find our link. Links expire after the validity you chose and after their number of uses. Create a new link under Client projects › Connect a project. Your client needs to be an Admin of the project they want to connect.
The project code does not work. A project code can be used once and is valid for 5 days. Ask your client for a new one.
A team member sees no client projects. Their project scope contains no groups or projects. A maintainer can change it under Team & Access.
A team member can open a client project but not change anything. They have no client project role. A maintainer can add one under Team & Access › Edit roles & access.
The billing center is empty. You only see client projects in which you hold the Billing role. Agency Owners and Billing members get it automatically for the projects in their scope; others need the client project role Billing. In client projects without advanced roles, Billing counts as Member, so those projects are not listed — see Agency access to client projects.
I cannot book an agency add-on. The agency has no bill recipient yet, or you are neither Owner nor Billing member. Set the bill recipient under Settings › Billing & Payment.
